Well, I've had four days at my new music therapy internship at San Antonio State Hospital. It's amazing how much humans can learn in four days....8-5. The first day was very much, introduction stuff. I met with music therapy staff for about two hours and went over a few things, but the rest of my time since then has been spent with all of the new employees for the San Antonio State Hospital and the San Antonio State School which is right next door.
Each day gets more and more interesting...especially after making friends with more people. Most of the people I have become aquainted with so far are going to be working at the State School....but oh well...cherish the moments while they are here. I'm the baby of the group and there's about 40 of us new people. The awesome part is that we've all come from different backgrounds, ages, experiences, etc. We have a lot to share with each other. And we're all here for different purposes. Food service, health care workers, jaintors, nurses, maintanence, and like me.....therapists.
The instructors have also had experiences from the hospital to share with us. Stories and examples make learning so much easier and more interesting.
